When you think of vitamin C you immediately think of cold prevention vitamins.
That is true especially during winter season. I know that for a fact because I have not had a cold since I start taking my vitamin c on a regular basis. But vitamin C is good for a lot of things
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and is an antioxidant. It helps your connective tissue, and helps prevent many diseases such as cancer. It prevents common colds, fights infection, and help your wound heals quickly
Vitamin C produces collagen, which keeps the skin young and firm. Vitamin C also boost your immune system protect against heart disease by clearing up the artery. Vitamin C helps you absorb calcium, which makes your bone stronger.
Types of Vitamin C
Vitamin C comes in different forms (L-Ascorbic or Ester C). Ascorbic C is the cheapest form of vitamin C and can irritate the stomach and cause heartburn if taken in high dose.
So if you are on a budget and you want to get your daily requirement and its what you can afford, just make sure you take it on a full stomach.
Ester C is more it more expensive. With good reason it absorb more quickly and can be taking in high dose without and irritation. To avoid any uncomfortness its better to take it with a meal or take a buffered ascorbate or you can take the Ester C, which is non-acidic
